LeVino Jones Medical Interiors participated recently in a room makeover for “Sunshine on a Ranney Day” (SOARD), a registered nonprofit organization in Atlanta. SOARD provides fun and uplifting dream bedrooms, bathrooms, and therapy rooms, for children with special needs.
Our client was Juliana, an energetic and cheerful 15-year old with Cerebral Palsy, who wished to become more independent in her bedroom and bath.
Working with SOARD contractors and other volunteer-vendors in the organization, the staff of LeVino Jones Medical Interiors donated their time and talent to renovate these spaces to reflect her personality. Safe navigation and accessibility were provided for her through the use of new flooring, handrails on all walls, curb-less shower with seat and a beautiful accessible sink and vanity. Visit Juliana’s room to see her surprise on Reveal Day and to see her new rooms by clicking this link:

imedical space planning was an exhibitor-sponsor for the November 2017 Healthcare Real Estate Southeast Interface Conference in Nashville.
imedical’s presence at this event allowed us to share the internet-based platform for national medical space planning with MOB owners, brokers and real estate groups.
Thursday, October 26th was the Tenth Annual Bowling for Boobs! This event is hosted by Illuminations Lighting and benefits Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta & The Common Thread for the Cure. LeVino Jones has participated each year, so we called our team “the Originals.” You’d think we’d be professional bowlers by now (but we’re not)! Architects, designers and industry product vendors brought their best bowling teams to Midtown Bowl to participate in one of three sessions with raffles in-between. Since it began 10 years ago, Bowling for Boobs has raised over $172,000 for Susan G. Komen and the fight against breast cancer. We always have a great time and look forward to the 11th annual Bowling for Boobs!
The Georgia Alliance of Interior Design Professionals (GAIDP) is a legislative coalition that ensures interior designers are given the right to practice in the state of Georgia. In June 2010, Georgia legislation was passed that allows Registered Interior Designers to prepare and stamp their own drawings to submit for permit and requires that designers continue to take responsibility for the life safety and code compliance of a space.
GAIDP hires a lobbyist to stay current with legislation that could benefit or harm the design industry. Without GAIDP, a designer’s right to practice would be at stake.
Fellow designers and industry partners, please join GAIDP and be a voice for the design industry. Visit their website to read more about the organization and become a member. The cost to be a member is $50 per year. Currently, there are approximately 4,000 Registered Interior Designers in Georgia and only a fraction of which are GAIDP supporting members.
Each year we look forward to a fun night of celebrating excellent design, food and friends. This year’s 37th annual ASID Design Excellence Awards were held at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works on Thursday, May 4th. Our very own “Scuber” driver, otherwise known as Alison’s husband, Scott, chauffeured us to and from the event.
LeVino Jones received both the Silver and Gold Award for the Contract Healthcare under 10,000 square feet category.
Sandy Springs Pediatrics received the Silver award in the Healthcare under 10,000 square feet category. LeVino Jones incorporated a “sophisticated treehouse” design which delights children and families and increases efficiency for patient flow and staff productivity. Click this link for more information on the project.
Eastside Medical Center/Women’s Center received the Gold award. LeVino Jones teamed up with Zanardo Architects to completely refresh the existing Labor/Delivery/Recovery and Mother/Baby rooms. Work was also done in the Waiting Area and Staff Lounge. For more information on this project, click this link
Thank you to all our clients and consultants for helping us create award-winning spaces!
This Christmas season we volunteered at the Sandy Springs Community Assistance Center (CAC) to sort toys that would end up going to families in need. The CAC is right in our backyard and serves the people of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. They help those in need by providing food, clothing, shelter, and educational classes to teach skills required to obtain a job.
Their mission is to “bring together the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities, to provide compassionate assistance to neighbors in need by providing financial support, helping to meet basic needs and promoting self-reliance.”
Our group was able to sort through donated toys and separate them for families by age, gender, etc. We enjoyed being a small part of making a child’s Christmas brighter.

Each year, Specialty Tile hosts an industry night of designing and constructing an entire town made of gingerbread! This year’s theme was Gingertown London: A British Invasion. Architecture and design firms buy a plot in the town and show off their best gingerbread architecture, frosting and candy constructing skills. The $5,000 raised from the plot purchases was donated to The Lifecycle Building Center and The Covenant House.
On December 6th, the LVJ elves headed to Gingertown London at the Specialty Tile Buckhead Showroom. They filled their cups with an assortment of candies and their piping bags with frosting. The designer’s space planned and constructed “Twiggy’s Bon Bon Beauty Salon” and even included the first gummy bear customers in the salon chairs. The salon is ADA accessible, sustainable with recycling bins in place, and lit on the inside.
Two of our favorite reps, Tracy Roan with Patcraft and Maureen Gundacker with Koroseal, sponsored our plot this year. Each plot comes together to form an amazing Gingertown that gets more impressive each year! Thank you to Specialty Tile for hosting another great event!

The annual Healthcare Design Expo + Conference is the leading healthcare design conference in the industry. This year the conference was in Houston, Texas from November 12th-15th. The conference is devoted to educating designers, architects and healthcare staff on the impact of the built environment. It focuses on highlighting innovative design solutions and introducing the latest and greatest industry products. Attendees can earn up to 23 CEU credits during the four-day conference.
This year, three LeVino Jones designers attended the conference and enjoyed networking with fellow specialists and attending classes focusing on patient safety, infection control, the patient experience, building innovations, evidence based design and code advancements.
Each year we look forward to the Healthcare Design Conference and are excited to implement the latest trends and strategies learned from the 2016 Conference!
One of our favorite events of the year is Bowling for Boobs, a breast cancer awareness fundraiser! This year, we gathered our mouse ears, bobby socks and pink bows to transform into the LVJ Rack-it-ear’s. This was the 9th Annual Bowling for Boobs event sponsored by Illuminations. http://www.illumco.com/bfb-save-the-date-2016/ 100% of all monies donated went directly to Susan G. Komen and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our bowling skills seem to be improving each year! Just imagine if we practiced more than once a year!
